More of our Euroluce 2019 favourites
As always, our annual trip to Milan Design Week was a memorable experience for the LightForm team. Check out the list below for a few of the highlights from Euroluce 2019.
WireLine
Designed by Formafantasma for FLOS

Elaborating on some of the design principles of their previous lamp WireRing, Formafantasma is again using the power cable as one of the main design features. Flattened to resemble a belt made of rubber and hanging from the ceiling, the cable holds a ribbed glass extrusion containing an LED light source. The lamp can be installed as a single piece or repeated to obtain elaborate visual compositions. Availability date: unknown.
Coordinates
Designed by Michael Anastassiades for FLOS

Michael Anastassiades‘ Coordinates is a lighting system consisting of horizontal and vertical strip lights that form illuminated grid-like structures of various complexities. The system can be easily adapted for different environments of varying scale. In addition to the customized solutions there are a collection of standard chandeliers of pared-down configurations that can be used in any setting. Availability date: unknown.
Noctambule
Designed by Konstantin Grcic for FLOS

Noctambule is a large-scale sculptural lighting collection made of cylindrical transparent glass modules that can be interconnected to create floor and pendant lamps, enriched by a glass bowl or cone shaped head. Modules can be joined together with up to six elements to create a stunning lighting colomn. Almost invisible in daylight, its shape is outlined in the dark by the stripe LED hosted at the module’s base and connecting rings. Grcic’s new collection provides a diffused, bright light giving a fascinating, magical atmosphere to any environment. Availability date: unknown.
Asana
Designed by OiKo Design Office for Estiluz

In the new Asana collection from Estiluz, three points of support function as a basic unit of equilibrium, characterizing the sleek design with form and balance. Inspired by yoga positions, this sculptural lamp manages to be both flexible and compact – leaving a strong impact in spite of its relatively thin profile. Taking the minimalist approach, Asana is ideal for modern and contemporary spaces – including restaurants, lounges, hotel lobbies, and living rooms.
Cut
Designed by Timo Ripatti for Axolight

Cut is the result of a long design process between Axolight and Timo Ripatti – aimed at the design of an adjustable lamp that can be positioned on three points and never dazzle. This collection features table, floor, and suspension versions, which all stand out for their refined and unique design. The laser-cut aluminum structure, folded in several points, connects two elements: the light source embedded in a circular metal support and a semi-transparent diffuser disk embedded in a ring. The two elements face each other, so that the light emitted by the light source is filtered and partially reflected by the screen.
Aimei
From Arturo Alvarez

In the new Aimei collection from Arturo Alvarez, delicate spines expand and protect light. Made of ash wood, this fascinating design has infinite possibilities. Each perspective shows something different, and the light source itself blends with the organic form – breathing life into any setting while conveying true emotion, similar to the designer’s other signature luminaires.
Magma
From Tala

Magma is an exploration of upcycled materials that accentuate the soft diffusion of light from Tala’s new dim-to-warm light sources, Sphere. Made with broken solar panels, the Magma range boasts a unique, translucent look that glows when switched on. Set for its official release later this year, Magma will be produced in floor, table, and suspension configurations – each adding a very unique feel to modern spaces.
Petits Bijoux
By Catellani & Smith

Petite Bijoux is a representation of ‘static movement’, the effect of an action that seems to imitate the gesture of throwing a stone into a pool of water, creating concentric waves that propagate into space. The structure of these suspended lights is made up of a series of circles held together by a series of thin cables that follow each other in succession to create the delicate look. Here, the spheres and circles are seen as metaphors for the infinite.
Bellissima
Designed by Ferruccio Laviani for Kartell

Ferruccio Laviani’s Bellissima suspension lamp is modern and versatile. With a clean and simple form, the collection is great for a variety of settings – serving as a charming accent whether placed next to a bed, in a recreational room, or above a dining table. Produced in a handful of playful pastels. Now available at LightFormshop.com
Moooi – “A Life Extraordinary” Exhibit

Drawing inspiration from the extraordinary diversity of life, Moooi’s Euroluce 2019 exhibit was a true showstopper. Mixing in new lights, furniture, and wall coverings featuring extinct animals, “A Life Extraordinary” gave us a sneak peek at what the brand has in store for later this year. We absolutely love the details that went into this project – from the limited edition “The Party” wall lights that were hand painted by Moooi Creative Director Marcel Wanders himself, to the Tokyo Blue area, where artisans were working on their denim during the show.
